Reps. Ed Orcutt and Ann Rivers invite constituents to telephone town hall meeting on Dec. 7

Reps. Ed Orcutt and Ann Rivers are inviting their 18th District constituents to participate in a telephone town hall meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 7. The event, with a format similar to a call-in radio show, will begin at 6:25 p.m. and run for one hour. Participants may call 1-877-229-8493 and enter 15498 to join in.

“I always look forward to thoughtful input from my constituents,” said Orcutt, R-Kalama. “I know that citizens from Southwest Washington are not always able to make it up to Olympia to meet with us, so this is a way to help them to communicate with their elected officials. With the budget and tax issues before us during the special session, I trust people will be more than willing to share their thoughts and ideas.”

“This is an opportunity for everyone to come together to discuss the economy, budget and other issues impacting our communities. While we wish we could host a traditional town hall meeting, this is a convenient alternative given the special session,” said Rivers, R-La Center. “We look forward to answering questions and exchanging ideas.”

Orcutt may be contacted at (360) 786-7812 or ed.orcutt@leg.wa.gov. Rivers may be reached at (360) 786-7850 or ann.rivers@leg.wa.gov.

The 30-day special session began Nov. 28. The 60-day, regular legislative session is set to start Jan. 9.
