White Pass High School student pages in the Washington State House of Representatives

Eric Brown sponsored by Rep. Ed Orcutt

Eric Brown paged in the Washington State House of Representatives Jan. 13-17. The White Pass High School student was sponsored by Rep. Ed Orcutt of the 20th District.

Eric was able to experience the Legislature in the first week of the 2020 legislative session. Some of his responsibilities included delivering messages and documents to state lawmakers in their offices, committee meetings and the House chamber, and attending Legislative Page School.

“I enjoyed meeting with Eric and listening to his experiences as a page in the House,” said Orcutt, R-Kalama. “Eric got to see the opening-day ceremonies, including the election of a new Speaker of the House, and the governor's State of the State Address the next day. The first week of the legislative session is always an interesting time.”

To serve as a page for the Washington State House of Representatives, a student must:
• have permission from a parent or guardian;
• have permission from his or her current school in the current year;
