I want to thank everyone who participated in my Zoom town hall meeting on April 13 with Rep. Peter Abbarno and Sen. John Braun. We spent an hour sharing our perspectives on the 2026 legislative session and, most importantly, answering questions from constituents. I always appreciate hearing from the people I represent and consider it an important part of my job.
Newsletter
I also recently joined my 20th District seatmates in writing and mailing a newsletter to constituents that shares more information on the 2026 legislative session, including what we considered wins and losses for our constituents. Upcoming election-year restrictions
On May 4, election-year restrictions begin for state representatives. These are rules that limit the use of state resources by state representatives and their staff in election years. This means I will not be able to send you email updates again until after the November general election results are certified by the Secretary of State.
These election-year restrictions also apply to all of my legislative communications, including statements, news releases, videos, audio clips, and other activities. There are some exceptions, including if a special session is called.
However, I am still allowed to respond to constituents who contact me by email, phone, or letter regarding concerns about state agencies or other legislative matters. I welcome you to reach out to me anytime you have an idea, concern, or question to share. I always try to respond as quickly as I can.
Lastly, thank you for taking the time to read these email updates. Olympia can seem like a distant place, but I assure you that it is not — especially since interim allows me to set up meetings in the district so I can come to meet you close to where you live or work. Your interest and involvement in the Legislature matters.
